The Forgotten Origins of Fantasy and Horror

Der Orchideengarten: The Complete Collection gathers every artwork from the world's first horror, fantasy, and science-fiction magazine, published in Germany from 1919 to 1921. Across eight illustrated paperback volumes and 640 pages, you can wander through ghosts, vampires, demons, impossible landscapes, and eerie visions that defined the Weimar-era fascination with dreams and the supernatural. Each 5.5 x 8.5 inch volume documents original illustrations and covers, paired with historical research, artist biographies, and story synopses drawn from the Century Guild archive. A custom slipcase brings the full three-year run together for the first time in one cohesive art library, so you can explore this forgotten garden of imagination and nightmare at your own pace.
