Peace Of Mind Built Into The Kitchen

KNEED is a one-button safety microwave created for seniors and loved ones living with dementia or memory challenges. Instead of a confusing control panel, there is just one visible start button, preset by a caregiver for a safe reheating time. Opening the door mid-cycle simply resets it for next use, reducing the risk of burns or overheated food. A discreet caretaker control panel on the side lets family or staff set and adjust times as needs change. When food is ready, continuous beeps and a flashing reminder light keep calling attention until the door is opened, helping users who may forget or have hearing difficulties. As dementia progresses, caregivers can switch between a single preset time and a gentle add-30-seconds mode, so the same familiar button grows with changing needs. Back KNEED on Kickstarter now.

About

We built KNEED after watching a parent lose confidence in her own kitchen - confused by buttons, scared of the stove, and quietly giving up her independence. So we made a microwave with just one button. Now caregivers can rest easy, and the people they love can still make their own meals.
