  • A Manga Born From African Myth

Action, folklore, and monsters collide in this 110+ page manga packed with African mythology.
What if every lie breathed life into a monster? Set in a world besieged by tokoloshe outbreaks, Tokoloshe Hunters follows Aneunhu Phiri, a half-human, half-tokoloshe recruit fighting to earn his place among elite hunters. This limited-edition hardcover packs 110+ pages of action-forward manga inspired by Southern African mythology, written and illustrated by Bill Masuku and published by Etan Comics. Backers receive the digital book, a 1-hour creator deep dive video, an original soundtrack, and their name on the Hunter's Wall, with free U.S. shipping on the hardcover. If you enjoy Lovecraft Country, Sinners, Get Out, or Stranger Things, this belongs on your shelf. Back Tokoloshe Hunters on Kickstarter.

    About

Hi! I am Beserat Debebe, founder of ETAN COMICS and writer/creator of HAWI, ZUFAN and JEMBER. I was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I fell in love with fantasy stories via animated shows, video game and movies I used to watch as a kid. After coming to the US, I was introduced to the world of comics, graphic novels and manga. I used to spend my days in libraries and bookstores reading them because I couldn't afford them. After school + a few years in the corporate world, I finally built the courage to create the stories Ive always wanted to see in these mediums; stories that explore African history and mythology! You can reach me via email (info@etancomics.com) or on social media (@etancomics). Enjoy and welcome to the Etan Comics Family!
