steptimer_rd
A Screen-Free Robot Timer For Your Desk
StepTimer is a tiny desktop companion that walks to remind you when a focus block is over. Instead of a buzzer or notification, it quietly stands beside you while the countdown runs, then walks in place with soft, mechanical footsteps you can see and hear. Choose simple presets like 5, 10, 15, 25, or 45 minutes with the top knob, then press and hold to reset for the next session. Six body colors and three included magnetic ear pairs let you match your desk or mood, while optional hand-knit hats and a plant-pot rack turn it into a character or moving micro-garden. Get a visible, physical signal that time is up with StepTimer. Back StepTimer on Kickstarter now.
About
Hi, I'm MJ Zhang, founder of PalmBlock. I launched StepBot on Kickstarter in August 2024. The campaign reached 1,711% of its funding goal and received support from 379 backers worldwide. StepBot subsequently entered mass production and is now available internationally through palmblock.com, with 4.5★+ reviews from real owners. In 2026, we returned to Kickstarter with DexoPad, a cross-device keyboard and mouse controller. Production is complete, and we have dispatched orders to every backer who provided a shipping address. DexoPads are already arriving in the hands of backers around the world. These projects reinforced a principle that guides everything we build at PalmBlock: crowdfunding is not only about presenting an idea - it is about turning that idea into a real, reliable product and delivering it to the people who supported it. With StepTimer, we are bringing that same practical engineering approach to a simpler, more playful way of staying aware of time - without another screen, app, or notification. I hold a master's degree in engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology and have seven years of product-development experience across two Fortune 500 companies in the robotics and automotive industries. - MJ & The PalmBlock Team
FAQ

What does it mean to back a project (pledge)?

When you back a project, you are pre-ordering the product.
