Made for comic books and zombie action connoisseurs, Outbreak Park is a gritty graphic novel, created by two visionary artists, and praised by both Chuck Palahniuk and Grant Morrison. Presenting a real delicacy to the discerning zombie epicure, Outbreak Park reads like The Walking Dead meets Jurassic Park, as it invites readers to immerse themselves in a startling vision of a nightmarish post-post-apocalyptic world. Humanity exists in vastly smaller numbers, within fortified enclaves mirroring the early city-states of ancient Greece. While a vaccine inoculating humans against a bite has been created, most of the planet is still subject to roving herds of undead. And equally frightening anarchist wellness Men’s groups.
Allan Amato’s cosmic camera sees through mortal skin to reveal the lambent ideal self beneath. Where Amato aims his lens, gods and superheroes, angels and demons are conjured; vinyl mythologies are summoned; mere flesh becomes dreamscape and deluxe collage where everything, especially the grotesque, is beautiful. Alchemist of light and composition, distiller of Platonic gold from leaden flesh, Renaissance futurist and musclebound death machine to boot; Allan Amato is easily my favorite photographer. -Grant Morrison
