Designer • Magician • Creator of COLORMATCH Ari Phillips grew up in New Zealand in a magical household, inspired by his father, a lifelong magician. By age 12 he was performing professionally, and at 17 he became President of the North Shore Magician's Society. Today, he is a seasoned professional with 25 years in The Magic Circle and has performed and lectured for magicians worldwide. Alongside magic, Ari has built a remarkable career in design with over 25 years of experience, working with leading companies such as Landor, Allen International, Redbird, and Air Design. In 2012, he founded Nugget Design in London, delivering innovative solutions across retail, hospitality, and commercial interiors. His expertise in design, strategy, and problem-solving naturally led him to game creation. Ari has designed games for clients in the past and is now bringing his own creation to life: COLORMATCH, a fast, colourful, brain-twisting card game built to entertain and challenge players of all ages. He is also the founder of GRUM Leather Craft, producing artisan magic accessories showcased internationally and earning accolades for quality and attention to detail. Ari knows Kickstarter firsthand, having successfully launched Quickdraw, a premium deck holster for magicians, fully funded in the first 24 hours. That experience informs his approach to COLORMATCH: professional, transparent, and backer-focused. When he isn't designing or performing, Ari blends creativity, play, and craft, always looking for ways to make experiences fun, memorable, and meaningful.
