Born in fire and finished by hand, Rive is a double-bit Damascus axe built to work for decades and look like no other. Its head is forged from 200+ layers of 1095 and 15N20, then acid-etched so the living grain of the steel appears. Two edges serve two jobs: a ~6.5 inch bit for power cuts like felling and splitting, and a ~4.5 inch bit for control work like limbing and notching. A 25 inch solid Ashwood handle soaks up shock, wrapped in top-grain leather for a warm, sure grip. At ~3 lb, it balances heft with control, with nickel fittings, a secure steel wedge, and a fitted leather sheath. Back Rive on Kickstarter now.
